At the risk of putting Art in an awkward position, let me point out that he has been the perfect sort of critic here at Brainstorms.

1. He started an extremely thoughtful and productive thread: The Design of Robustness

2. He is highly specific and on topic with regard to his criticisms

3. He is boldly critical: he does not mince words and try to smooth over the Moderator (As far as I can tell;-)

4. He maintains a dialogue with others, not talking over their heads, but directly referencing their argument

5. He is less apt than others to introduce stereotypes and sweeping claims

If there were a Humo(u)r forum here, I could write something like the following:

"As the teacher finished praising Art in front of the whole class, Art sat at his desk, cheeks flushed with embarrassment, feeling the icy stares from all of his classmates. He wondered how bad this could get. And he soon found out. At recess, all the kids on the playground circled around him, and started chanting, "Teacher's pet! Teacher's pet! Teacher's pet!" Art tried not to break into tears, as he shook his head and wondered whether home schooling wasn't such a bad idea, after all."

Unfortunately, you don't have a Humo(u)r forum here. Would you like to start one? I could invited matty and the gang.

Jules

P.S. Thanks for sending Samada our way.
