I have a non-scientific question. What is the status of the ID movement? Is it having any success? In the introduction to Mere Creation, Dembski writes: "I predict that in the next five years intelligent design will be sufficiently developed to deserve funding from the National Science Foundation." It's 2003. Has this prediction come true? Has the funding come? Has ID made any major inroads in the scientific community or among lay people? If not, do you think that ID will make the predicted progress in the next few years, or is it on its last legs?

I don't say this to be discouraging. I have several ID books and they have helped me immeasurably in basing my fledgling Christianity firmly on a foundation of facts. But I am a little concerned that the Darwinian establishment may be hunkering down in their Academic fortresses and hoping that this attack from the heretics will fizzle out within a few years. Any thoughts?

Dan,

Your question while interesting may not be well suited for discussion on the ISCID forums which look at positive statements. Perhaps you could rephrase your thoughts in a manner which reflects the goals of this group. I do not want to sound like a moderator since I am not but I have grown to appreciate the focus of these groups.

Pim is correct. This is not a Brainstorms post.
