I've got to say, that as a philosopher, I find this entire discussion re: God/gods, thouroughly unsatisfying. Why? Because each of you is merely making a bunch of pre-theoretical assertions that you feel strongly about and stating them as if they are obvious. There is no argument here.

I, for one, can make an assertion to counter Charlie's (or Mark's) assertion(s):

"that God existed before human beings and that God is not a fantasy."

I'll not argue for this assertion, because no one else on this thread (since we started talking about God) is arguing for his assertions.

It's a tad depressing to see such confidence exuded regarding questions for which confidence is not warranted.

Oh, and since I'm a moderator of this forum, and *do* feel that the thread has gone off the track from its original post, I'm closing it (sour grapes, I suppose).
