Hi, I'm new here and just as new to ID. I had a quick question.
I went to the FAQ and found under point "D." of. . .
http://www.ideacenter.org/contentmgr/showdetails.php/id/1163
. . .I found the following:
(1) High information content machine-like irreducible complex structures which exhibit specified complexity will be found. (2) Fossil forms will be found that appear suddenly and without any precursors. (3) Similar genes and functional biological parts will be found (re-used by the designer) in different and unrelated organisms. (4) There will not be much useless "junk" in biology, such as vestigial organs or alleged functionless DNA.
All of these predictions are testable.
Now I was told by someone that:
quote: Not only that, they are tendentious. These "testable" hypothesis are hand picked to accord with what we already know, so the "test" came before the hypothesis tested. Indeed, the hypothesis was formulated to be confirmed by these "testable" elements
Problem is, all these predictions can be explained by Evolutionary Theory or just common sense (the fossil record is incomplete by definition, for instance, hence "sudden" appearances are to be expected).
I'm being spun, I just don't know how.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
