Acne Conglobata Acne conglobata is a severe, scarring type of acne marked by burrowing, interconnected abscesses that cause irregular scarring and sometimes pronounced disfigurement. Instead of occuring independently or in fields, acne conglobata comedones appear in groups of two or three, and the cysts drain a foul-smelling material that returns after drainage.
