Adenosine Disphosphate-ADP

Adenosine Disphosphate. ADP is a free Adenosine nucleotide and is critical to the function of most eukaryotic cells. Among other things, it participates in regulating the levels of AMP in the cell and indicates when levels of the energy carrying ATP are low. ADP is formed as a product of the ATP energised biosynthesis of the free nucleotide AMP, and acts as a regulstor of the same process.
