Chemical Engineering Chemical engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the chemical processes that transform raw materials or chemicals (such as energy, chemicals, petroleum, and pulp) into products that are more useful or necessary to society (such as plastics, medicines, fuels, ultra-strong fibers, semiconductors, etc). Chemical engineering is also a significant ally in the fight for environmental conservation through its efforts to produce cleaner energy, to fully understand the impact that chemicals have on the earth, and to research and develop products that are biodegradable or easier to recycle.
