Jaegwon Kim

Jaegwon Kim received his Ph.D. in philosophy from Princeton University. He currently teaches both at Notre Dame and Brown University.

Kim is well known for his work in the philosophy of mind and metaphysics. In philosophy of mind, he has contributed immensely to the discussion on mental causation and provides an authoritative anaylsis of the topic in his Mind in a Physical World. He is especially well known for his sophisticated critique of non-reductive physicalism as well as his dissatisfaction with strict identity theories.

In metaphysics, Jaegwon Kim is known for his work on properties and events with events being the exemplification of properties and their relations.
