Neuroscience Neuroscience is a life science, one that is concerned with understanding the function, properties, structure, development, pathology and genetics of a nervous system on all of its levels (for example, the molecular, the physiological, the biochemical and the cellular levels). Within the scope of a neuroscientist’s focus are both sick and healthy nervous systems so as to research and compare the attributes of each. Neuroscience also seeks to comprehend the behavioral and cognitive aspects of the nervous system. It is an interdisciplinary field and employs the knowledge and skills of specialists in psychology, biology, engineering, math and biochemistry.
