Ray Kurzweil
Born in 1948 in Queens, New York, Ray Kurzweil is one of the leading inventors and developers of computer related technology in America today. He was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame of the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2002 and was the recipient of the Lemelson-MIT Prize, which, with a $500,000 cash purse, is the most significant award for innovation and invention. He also received the National Medal of Technology in 1999, which represents America’s greatest honor for technology. Kurzweil has received a plethora of other awards, honors from 3 U.S. presidents, as well as 11 honorary doctorate degrees. He is also a best-selling author, especially with his book The Age of Spiritual Machines: When Computers Exceed Human Intelligence, published in nine languages in 2000.
