Rejection Region

A type of specification employed in Ronald Fisher’s theory of significance testing in which a pattern is set up in advance of an experiment and a sample is then taken. Provided the sample falls within the rejection region, the chance hypothesis (i.e., the probability distribution said to be responsible for the sample) is then eliminated.
